Congrats to Saraswathy for receiving a position in the inaugural SWIMMER cohort! This NSF Research Training program supports graduate students studying water ecosystems. Saraswathy’s thesis work is on the immunotoxic effects of copper in threespine stickleback.

Steinel Lab Attends Immunology 2022 in Portland OR





In May 2022 Ahmed Attaya, Abdelmounaim Nouri, Saraswathy Vaidyanathan, Alexandra Collias, and Natalie Steinel attended the AAI Immunology 2022 Conference in Portland Oregon. Everyone presented posters and Ahmed also presented a talk.

Steinel Lab members win UML Research Symposium awards
Congrats to Kelli Burke, Alex Collias, and Mary Tibbetts on their winning 90s lightening talks at the 23rd annual UML Student Research and Community Engagement Symposium. Immersive Scholar students Kelli and Mary presented their work on tardigrade genomics and immunity and Alex presented her masters work on parasite-mediated immunosuppression.
